I Explore The Strength, Flexibility, And Power Of Human Body In These Portraits (NSFW)

-

Exploring the athletic body’s strength, flexibility, and power, the Athletic Implied Nudes series examines the human form when under muscular stress. By using stark lighting, black and white photography, and clear backgrounds, I am able to draw attention to my subjects’ muscles and bodies.

With the help of MMA and boxing athletes, I honed my studio photography skills to freeze in mid-action the explosive contractions of fast-moving muscle groups. By developing a sixth sense for timing fight photography, we’ve been able to capture these athletes at their most impressive moments of action. Incorporating what I learned about composition and positioning to best highlight the human form into my commercial fitness work, I was able to carry over my improved grasp of the human form and body types from this project.

I’ve been patiently working on a portrait photography project for the past few years, and in that time I’ve met some very amazing people from all over the world. In my capacity as a photographer based in London, Ontario, Canada, I focus primarily on photographing combat sports and physical fitness.
